Using the University Library

The University Library is open to the public. A valid university ID card or community borrower's card is required to check out materials. The patron on whose card an item is checked out is responsible for that item. Patrons may borrow books, audio CDs, and videos. However, Newspapers, Magazines, Microforms, and Reference books do not circulate

Materials checked out and not returned on time will be assessed overdue fines. For items checked out and lost, the user must pay replacement costs and fines.

Theft or mutilation of materials is a misdemeanor or felony and covered by Wisconsin Statute 943.61. All security incidents will be reported to University officials.

Please handle library materials with care. Food and drink may damage library materials and is forbidden in computer workstation areas.

Patrons should be careful not to disturb others or to prevent them from concentrating on their work. Cell phone calls should be taken at the main lobby (outside the turnstiles) or stairwells. Cell phone ringer should be turned off while in the library.

Students, staff and faculty may access library resources from within the library or remotely using their NetID and password. Non-university patrons may use these resources from within the Library.

The University Library reserves the right to suspension of library privileges.
